Who are we representing?

Just a quick thought…

It seems very common when I am talking with people about Christ or just trying to encourage folks in Christ for them to tell me that they know in order to get their life right they need to be in church or something to that extent.

My question is if we are the light to the world, Christians who represent Christ, shouldn’t actions, witness, words, etc be reflecting Jesus Christ instead of the local church?

It seems to be putting much more emphasis on our denominational buildings than our Savior. Shouldn’t people be telling me that they know that to get their life right they need to acknowledge they are a sinner and need to accept Jesus into their hearts to obtain forgiveness for their sins.

If I was to make our Christianity into an equation which would be correct?

Christian + witness/actions =/leads to Christ
Christian + witness/actions =/leads to a denominational local church

If “all” Christians are going around asking people if they go to church and inviting them to their church…doesn’t that sound more like a marketing strategy/advertisement than a witness?

If the unsaved, backslidden, or for my Baptist brothers and sisters people who just said a prayer and wasn’t really saved interpretation of Christian’s evangelistic attempts/witness attempts/lifestyles is that they have to church to get their life right…does that mean we are putting the local denominational church in front of God? If that is true, then we are then worshiping our buildings rather than our Savior?

Do you think that is why we have so many people in the church non being active members of Christ? They think they are okay because they go to church and they really don’t have to obey Christ’s commands to be a Christian?

The bible says where two or more are gathered together in mine name I am there in the midst of them. Is not the Holy Spirit inside of every believer. Then if we are witnessing one on one and in the name of Jesus…would we therefore be at Church?

I am writing on this and wanted to open this up to peoples thoughts. I have already talked to several concerning this.
