Just a reminder…
When Christ came into your heart, He accepted you just as you are. God is all knowing and knows everything you struggle with, mistakes you will make, and every weakness you have! He still accepted you as is!
Now this is not an excuse to continue living freely in sin but an encouragement to press on in your relationship with Christ and doing what He has created you to do!! If you are down and discouraged because of your short comings, realize He accepted them when He accepted you! As we grow in the Lord, through meditating on His Word, time in prayer and fasting, those weaknesses will start to disappear without us ever realizing it. It will not be until a period of time later you will look back and realize as you continue to grow closer to Christ He helps you overcome it!
When you mess up, do not pull away from God but instead pull closer to Him. If you never sinned in your life you still would not be worthy of His grace, mercy, and love! What a humbling thought. We are born enslaved to sin and there is no work, act, or anything that we can do to change that. Perfection will not solve nor make you any more saved or “holier”! God didn’t set forth His plan for redemption and execute it so he could bind us with more bondage than what we were born into. He didn’t pay our debt and free us from the slavery to sin just to make us His slaves!!! NO, He did it because He loves us and wants an intimate relationship with us! Nothing else can save us but Christ alone and His blood that He shed on the cross for our sins! Understand no matter how you feel or how big you messed up, He still wants a relationship with you and wants you to draw closer to Him EVERYDAY of your life! When you do not feel like worshiping because you messed up, worship harder…the gift given to you that allows us be able to repent so you can have communion with God is all the reason to worship!!
Have you thought about it, the Creator of the Universe, of all life wants an intimate, loving, infatuated relationship with you! All He asks in return is to love Him back and in that love obey His commands until the day we get to join Him in Heaven! He commands are not there to keep up bound and pressed down but to protect us from the snares of the enemy! Just like parents have rules for their children simply to help keep them protected. Why does a parent do that, because they love their child and that is a reflection of one of the ways God shows He loves us!
