Moral Decay…my thoughts
I am reminded of a movie called “Serenity” where the government was doing tests on a planet. They were slowly changing the air to make the population the “way they thought they should be”. The experiment went bad and part of the population turned into cannibals and the other portion quick caring until they just all died.
It seems somehow the same thing is going on with the morals in America. You can blame it on Hollywood, which plays a major role in desensitizing people on issues like homosexuality, drunkeness, sex, ect. It is amazing to me that people can’t see it. Things like drunkenness, pre-martial sex, cussing, gossip, pursuit of success, abortion, homosexuality, bisexuality, pride, gluttony, lying, slothfullness, and pornography are deemed acceptable behavior among America. Though if you look at this what good does any of these behaviors benefit anyone? How does it bring happiness to anyone’s life?
Someone teaches against drunkenness, people get in an uproar…but what is wrong with encouraging people not to kill brain cells and do acts they will regret the next morning with the hangover…if they remember it!
Same with pre-martial sex, 1 it would cut down on teen pregnancy, std’s, reduce the number of children who have to grow up in single parent homes, and allow a special union between spouse’s…not having anyone to compare each other too, I don’t know might create a sense of contentment in the relationship!
Nobody likes to be around foul mouth people and gossip has NO benefits other than destroying relationships, character, etc…when most issues are from misunderstandings! Do I have to really explain abortion…for the most part people want it as a way out of their mistakes, that is no excuse to take a unborn childs life…it might take that to make someone change their lifestyle!
Homosexuality *shutter* it is revolting and unnatural…I have many friends/aqauintences who are homosexual and I love the person just their lifestyle is unfathomable to me! It is unnatural from a religious and evolutionary standpoint, they can’t reproduce and they have higher chances of std’s. I will go out on a limb and say most choose that life style because of abused as a child or witnessed abuse or do not have the social skills needed around the opposite sex outside of a friendship and not “born that way”.
Pursuit of Success and Pride usually run hand and hand. They are seeking happiness in success but usually their priorities are off…they deprive their family, friends, and it will lead to a long life of hardships.
Gluttony…ok being overweight leads to heart disease, diabeties, reduced abilities, and overall reduces the joy of life because of the limitations.
Lying is deemed ok if it is going to make someone feel better, get them a job, or to climb the latter of success…problem is it is still a LIE. If someone kills 1 person, it still makes them a murderer!
Laziness, is a “babied” condition that prevents successful lives, puts children in unnecessary situations, and pulls down the whole economy! Yet we support it…I mean COME ON! People make careers of doing nothing, what is sad they are abusing the system and it will end up hurting the people the system is there to protect. Whether this is welfare or unions(which are usually bad anyways…greed), the actions of the “bad seeds” give it all a bad name! Though if you say anything against it you are offending them!?!
Pornography, you can now see brief nudity on mainstream tv. Pornography is a multi billion dollar industry feeds men and womens lusts…though what is the downside? Divorces? child molesters? Jeffery Domers? lifetime addictions? Uncontemptment for ones spouse or girl friend? Yes, let our children idolize females who pose nude and allow them to watch it on tv!!! While your at it go ahead and give them a crackpipe because you are creating an addiction in that childs life just as strong and just as destructive.
I know I am a UBER conservative but all I am asking is to STOP and rationalize the consequences of your actions and how they will effect your life, childrens lives, parents lives, those around you, and the impact it can have on the economy! Are you making your decisions because it is truly right or you want to do it regardless of consequences, your personal lusts and desires?
What is absolutely amazing to me is that God gives us instructions in his Word not to do these actions. Why, to hold us down? to be mean? No! to protect us from ourselves! He told Adam not to eat of the fruit so that he might live in the garden of Eden with Him forever! Since Adam did the consequence was labor and death, not God’s will but His design! A parent places rules on their children not to be mean but to protect them from themselves…not that they don’t want their children to have fun just to protect them. When the child breaks the rule, the parent disciplines the child because they love them not because they desire to whip thier kid or ground them! But to teach them rules are in place for a reason and they have to obey them…for their own protection/good.
