Hiding From God
Last week I had a slip up and my prayer/reading time took a nose dive but my T.V. intake skyrocketed. I did repent of my sin last week but I failed to increase my prayer and reading more. I felt God speaking to me later in the week reminding me of how I was in HS. God has blessed me with a family who prays for me and gives me spiritual advice and guidance…who took me in before they really...
An Encouraging Word
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Should Congress have a Foreign Travel Reform? →
10k for commercial flights…personally I assume some foreign relations is good but is it necessary for every state rep to visit? Maybe they are trying to bring foreign companies to their states…not for sure. The few reports I saw didn’t actually say anything other than how much costs were. According to this article 9.4 million in the first 3 fiscal quarters of 2009.

I have a question that I hope you guys can answer through scripture references. Anyways, the other day I was reading the Word and I came across a passage:
“As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ 8Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” - Matthew 10:...

My take on 1 Corinthians 5
No responses….oh well.
If the Bible is the Living Spoken Word of God….
My first thought of interpreting this is that we should address the issues. You cannot shed the Light into darkness without exposing things hidden (Ps 90:8, Job 12:22, Job 28:11, Daniel 2:22, 1 Cor 4:5). We have to address it with them, discretely but firm.
Ephesians 5:8-14 says,
For you were once darkness, but...
What do you think?
1 Corinthians 5 says,
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife. And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already...
Why Memorize the Scripture? By John Piper

First, a few testimonies: I have it third hand, that Dr. Howard Hendricks (of Dallas Seminary) once made the statement (and I paraphrase) that if it were his decision, every student graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary would be required to learn one thousand verses word perfect before they graduated.

The Gamble
We tend to live our lives so callously in our youth. We interact with people as if they are guaranteed a tomorrow! We get caught up in this world, our jobs, friends, drama, tv shows, success, etc that we forget about how fragile life is. We easily lose focus of priorities and begin missing out on things most important to us! It is sad that it takes reminders of loved ones passing for us to...

This has been a wonderful 3day weekend except I have been sick, running fever and a sinus infection. I have not slept much all weekend and I am rather tired. Finally this morning I had enough, the infection had spread to my eye and almost no sleep last night. So I called my doctor and had him call in some prescriptions for me this morning. Within the hour I had picked up my prescriptions and taken...
Life towards humility continued...
As I have written before, through the Lord’s leading I have altered or changed my focus of what Christianity actually is and means. A few months ago I struggled to read and pray daily…in fact there were months that I never opened my bible. My prayers consisted of very short about me or needs of others while I was coming and going. They were half-hearted, not because I didn’t mean...

Judging by that article and their past update to the NIV, when my current NIV(either 1978 or 1984 version) is worn (YAY for duct tape…havent had to use it but will do when needed!) and I am forced to update I will not be purchasing a NIV or revised NIV. I already use several translations during my studies to help ensure that I am getting a correct translation. I...
Wonderfully Said...
“If you are called to the place where you are, a few questions need to be considered. For example, how would you be missed if you left this place? What would change? Basically, what difference does your presence make here? Or, as my youth pastor once asked me, what would your church (and the world wide church) look if everyone was as committed as you are? If everyone gave and served and...

“I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have the Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made - I’m a disciple of His. I wont look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low...
Send ACTION PACKS to Pakistani Christians attacked...
Dear VOM Friends:
On Aug. 1, when 20,000 radical Muslims attacked a Christian section of Gojra village, our contacts in Pakistan immediately responded. VOM contacts were calling Gojra Christians as the mob raged through the village. They encouraged them to remain strong. They also called police and government officials to pressure them to respond to the desperate cries for help in Gojra.
